How to Add Markup Text, Shapes and Arrows to Images

The Markup tool in Poppulo Haromy's Image Editor allows you to add many elements to your images. The Markup tool helps with calling attention to important aspects of your images; you can add ArrowsText, Square and Circle shapes, and even Draw on your images! Text in particular helps to make distinctive headers and banners for your newsletters.

To start, Add an Image within your content or Add an Image using Placeholders. Use the pencil edit icon to open the Image Editor. Then, use the instructions below to add Markup elements to your images.

To Add Text to your Image:

  1. In the Markup tab of the Image Editor, choose Text

    Note: You can remove the Text by selecting it and then choosing Remove.
     

  2. Choose the Size of your text.

  3. Choose the Font type.

  4. Choose the Colour of your text by using the colour bar below your image. You can select one of the pre-loaded colours, or click on the rainbow colour-wheel to choose a specific colour.

  5. Select Done to save your text.

    Note: You can also select Reset to revert to your original image. To remove the Text after saving, open the image editor and select your Text. The option to remove will appear. 

     

To Add Arrows to your Image:

  1. In the Markup tab of the Image Editor, choose Arrow. You can change the length and direction of the Arrow by dragging the handles on either end.

    Note: You can remove the Arrow by selecting it and then choosing Remove.
     

  2. Choose the Style of your arrow.

  3. Choose the Decoration type. Selecting None removes the Arrow points, turning the Arrow into a straight line.

  4. Choose the Colour of your Arrow by using the colour bar below your image. You can select one of the pre-loaded colours, or click on the rainbow colour-wheel to choose a specific colour.

  5. Select Done to save your Arrow.

    Note: You can also select Reset to revert to your original image. To remove the Arrow after saving, open the image editor and select your Arrow. The option to remove will appear. 

     

To Add Shapes to your Image:

  1. In the Markup tab of the Image Editor, choose Square or Circle. You can change the size of the shape by dragging the handles at each corner/side. You can also change the Square into a rectangle and the Circle into an oval this way.

    Note: You can remove the Shape by selecting it and then choosing Remove. 
     

  2. Choose the Style of your shape.

  3. Choose the Colour of your Shape by using the colour bar below your image. You can select one of the pre-loaded colours, or click on the rainbow colour-wheel to choose a specific colour.

  4. Select Done to save your Shape.

    Note: You can also select Reset to revert to your original image. To remove the Shape after saving, open the image editor and select your Shape. The option to remove will appear. 

 

To Draw on your Images

  1. In the Markup tab of the Image Editor, choose Draw

  2. Choose the a Style for your lines. Draw freely on your image.

  3. You can remove your drawing by choosing Select and then selecting your drawn lines. The option to Remove will appear. You can also change the Style of your lines by choosing Select, selecting your drawing, and then navigating to the Style button.

    Note: You can also select Reset to revert to your original image. 
     

  4. Choose the Colour of your drawing by using the colour bar below your image. You can select one of the pre-loaded colours, or click on the rainbow colour-wheel to choose a specific colour.

  5. Select Done to save your drawing.
    Note: You can also select Reset to revert to your original image. To remove the drawing after saving, open the image editor, choose Select, and then select your drawing. The option to remove will appear.
