When embedding a video in your email, one option is to link to a video hosted online. You can easily Embed a Video from Youtube or Vimeo and Poppulo Harmony will automatically add an image with a play button to let your readers know there's video content. When you Embed Video not hosted on Youtube or Vimeo, you'll manually take a screen shot of the video for Poppulo Harmony to add the play button to.
For video that is not hosted online, upload the video file directly from your computer and embed it in your email using the instructions below.
To Upload and Embed a Video File in your Email:
-
Edit an Article. (Alternatively, open your Flyer for Editing.)
-
In the Content Editor, for the Full Story of your article, use your mouse cursor to highlight where you would like your video to appear in your content. Then, click on the Insert/Edit Media icon.
Note: Video should not be used on the cover page of your email as it may lead to delivery issues (some email clients will automatically filter the email to spam folders).
-
Choose the Video Format of your file and then click the Browse icon next to the File Location field to choose your file.
Note: The maximum file size is 12MB. See supported video formats for more information.
-
Give your video a description and click Save.
Note: You can also create a copy of this file in your Media Library using the checkbox.
-
Your Video size will auto-populate; use the preview window to see what your video will look like. You can alter the dimensions based on your preferences. Click Ok to save.
Note: Setting a video wider than the the newsletter column will stretch your template - negatively impacting look and feel.
- Your Video will now be embedded in your article. Save your article when done.
Supported Video Formats
It is possible to upload small videos, under 12MB, directly into your Poppulo Harmony account, provided the file type is supported. Refer to the table below to confirm your file type before attempting to upload video into Poppulo Harmony:
Note: If your video file is over 12MB, you will need to either compress the file or host it online and embed it using the instructions at Embed a Video.
