Change your Default Sender Details

If you will be sending numerous emails from the same person or mailbox, you can update your Default Sender Details. This means you won't need to change your sender details for each individual send. (If you have not set the Default Sender Details, your own name and email address will appear)

When you send an email, the Send Wizard will ask you to check the Sender Details for that email. You can use the Default Sender Details that appear, or change the sender details based on your preference; you can even Personalise the Sender Details. You can Update your Default Sender Details in your Folder Settings on a per Folder basis or use the instructions below to update the sender details during the send process. 

 

To Update Default Sender Details when Sending your Email:

  1. At Step 3 (Check your Sender Details) of the Send Wizard, click 'Change Sender Details'.

  1. Update, the From NameFrom Email and Reply to Email to what you'd like them to be set to, by default. (From here you can also personalise the sender details).

    Note: The example above shows the Sender Details updated to those of the CEO. We do not recommend using your CEO's email address for the Reply-to Field. If you're sending to a large audience then it's likely that the CEO's inbox will be flooded with Out of Office messages if you put the CEO's email in the Reply-to Field. Instead, use your IC team address in the Reply-to Field.

 
  1. Check the Save as Default Sender Details checkbox beneath the three fields and click 'Save'

  1. The sender details will be saved as your Default Sender Details, click 'Next' and continue through the rest of the Send Wizard. 

 

To Set your Default Sender Details in your Folder Settings:

  1. Go to the Account drop-down and click 'Account Settings'.

  1. In the Account Settings, towards the bottom of the page, next to the folder name, click the Folder Settings icon.

  1. In the Folder Settings, scroll to Default Sender Details. Update the default From NameFrom Email and Reply to Email here. Click 'Save' to confirm your changes.

    Note: If you're sending to a large audience then it's likely that the Reply to Email inbox will be flooded with Out of Office messages. Choose your internal communication email or another appropriate email address as the Reply to Email.
