To improve data security and governance, Poppulo has provided an important change to how permissions work within the Advanced Analytics platform. This update ensures that users only see the data they’re authorized to access, helping protect sensitive data and support audit readiness.
Previously, users with enterprise report access could potentially view data from all sub-accounts. With this enhancement, access is now aligned with assigned permissions:
- Enterprise Reports only aggregates data from sub-accounts a user is explicitly authorized to access
- Users no longer see enterprise-wide data unless they have access to all sub-accounts
The following lists the improvements with increasing permission-based access:
- Access Control: Implement permission-based access control across the platform to align visibility with job responsibilities.
- Granular Sub-Account Control: Enforce sub-account-specific visibility rules to ensure compliance with internal data-sharing policies.
- Improved Data Governance: Reduce risk by tightening controls and eliminating over-permissioned users.
Example Scenario
If User A has access to Sub-Accounts 1, 2, 5, 7, and 9:
- Their enterprise-level dashboard will reflect data from only those five (5) sub-accounts.
- No visibility into unassigned sub-accounts, even at an aggregate level.
